I know I have mentioned it several times on my blog – I’m a candle-o-holic. I love candle. L-O-V-E them. I love how they brighten a room (no pun intended). I find the flickering flames totally mesmerizing. I used to enjoy scented candles but I don’t burn them as much due to my cats asthma and allergies. The less wheezing she does the better.
Having five cats and a dog (not to mention teenagers) makes it a bit of a safety hazard to have lit candles around my home. All it takes is one bump from the kids horsing around, or one of my cats tip-toeing past a candle to knock it over. Heaven forbid that ever happens. We live in a condo and there are 10 families in our building. I don’t even want to think about the possibility of a fire.

I know there are plenty of flameless candles on the market – but not all flameless candles are created equal. Some are clearly more realistic looking than others. Energizer’s flameless candles is one of the more realistic ones.
The Energizer Flameless Candles are made out of wax, just like a real candle. The good thing is you don’t have to worry about wax melting and dripping on to your furniture. The base of the candle is plastic and OK for almost all surfaces.
These candles have a very realistic looking “flicker”. When they are turned on and you watch them from across the room you would swear that they were real lit candles and that there is a flame dancing around inside. There is no flame – just three LED lights with a realistic flicker pattern that does not repeat for 72 hours.
One of my favorite features about these candles is that they have a timer that can be set to turn the candle on and off after 4, 6 or 8 hours. The candles also have a cool memory feature that makes the candle turn on at the same time every day. I really like that because often I’m too busy with dinner to think about lighting the candle. It’s nice to sit down after dinner to relax and have the candle already on for me.
I keep my candle on the coffee table which is a place I would NEVER put a real candle. It’s just too dangerous to keep a real candle on the coffee table. My cats run across it all the time.
